I have worked professionally with dreadlocks for over 26 years. During that time, I developed my own method â the Seienstyle Process.
Through thousands of hours working with different hair types, I have refined a technique that creates dreadlocks that are durable, comfortable, and aesthetically beautiful.
The method is designed so that your dreadlocks:

Here we create thin dreadlocks directly in your natural hair.
This is ideal if you want your own hair to develop into dreadlocks and follow the process from the beginning.
Over time, the dreadlocks will mature and develop their own unique character.
If you would like longer or fuller dreadlocks immediately, we can use extensions made from real human hair.
The extensions are integrated into the dreadlocks so they look as natural as possible.
This can be a good option if:

We begin with a video consultation where you share your vision and the style you would like to create. I then craft your extensions by hand and send photos during the process so you can follow the creation and ensure they look exactly as you imagined. Once everything is finished, we do a final check together before I ship them to you.

A full head with extensions can take two full working days. I prefer to prepare the extensions in advance so the installation can be completed in one day.
When dreadlocks are first created, they begin as new or âstarter locs.â Over time, the hair continues to lock and become more compact.
For many people, it takes around 6â12 months for dreadlocks to properly mature, but this can vary depending on hair type and how they are maintained. The Seienstyle Process is designed to help your dreadlocks begin maturing after about 2â3 months, so your dreadlocks will start looking more defined sooner when your micro locs are created using the Seienstyle Process.

Yes, if you have come to me, Ann-Marie at Seienstyle, to have your micro dreadlocks created and you have not done any chemical treatments on your hair afterward (coloring, bleaching, perming, or toning), it is possible to comb out micro dreadlocks. However, it is a time-consuming process and depends on how long you have had them. You do not need to shave your hair to remove them.
I also have tips for several different hairstyles with hair extensions that you can try if you want to remove your micro dreadlocks but do not want to comb them out and do not want short hair.
The older and more mature the dreadlocks are, the more work is required to remove them.
Most people need maintenance about 1â4 times per year, but this varies depending on how fast your hair grows.
During a maintenance appointment:
âą dreadlocks are separated at the roots
âą new hair growth is integrated into the dreadlocks
âą the shape of the dreadlocks is improved

I always recommend using products that are designed for dreadlocks and that do not leave residue in the hair.
