In a large class, the teacher can only watch your hands for a few minutes at a time. The rest of the day, you are practising alone, and small mistakes in how you hold the hook, section the hair or stand can slip by unnoticed. Over time, those small mistakes become habits.

My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. That is why my in-person training is one-on-one. For two full days, I can see everything you do and correct it in the moment, so you build the right habits from the very beginning.

What our two days together look like

Before we meet, we have a one-on-one video call, so I know you have understood the foundations of the method and have had time to practise. You choose your focus from dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more.

Then I come to you in Canberra, and we work side by side on live hair models for two days. I demonstrate, you try, I adjust, and we repeat until it starts to feel natural. By the end of the second day, you are leading and I am mostly watching.
