We talk a lot about a loctician's hands. We talk much less about their nervous system. But after eight, ten or twelve hours of close, focused work with another person, it is often the nervous system that gives out first.

My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. For years I carried my clients' worries home with me and lay awake replaying conversations. After my burnout, I trained in breathwork and meditation, and I learned how to stay open without being porous. Those practices are now part of how I teach.

What our two days together look like

Before we meet, we have a one-on-one video call to understand your experience and agree on your focus. You choose from dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more.

Then I come to you in Denver, and we work side by side on live hair models for two days. Between dreadlocks, we pause. We practise short breathing exercises you can use in the middle of an appointment, and simple ways to reset between clients. By the end of the two days, you have both the technique and the tools to stay grounded while using it.
