Loctician Training in Phoenix: Hands-On Dreadlock Training With the Seienstyle Process
Aug 21, 2023By Ann-Marie Christell, Seienstyle
Early mornings, long days
In the desert, people learn to move with the light. They rise early, rest when the heat is strongest, and come back out as the evening cools. There is a wisdom in that rhythm that I wish more locticians brought into their work.
My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. A dreadlock appointment can last eight to twelve hours. The locticians who last are the ones who design their days and weeks around what their body actually needs, with real breaks, real rest and a pace they can keep for decades.
Why Phoenix
Phoenix and the Valley around it, from Scottsdale and Tempe to Mesa, Chandler and Glendale, have grown into one of the largest urban areas in the country. Many people have moved here looking for a new start and a different way of living.
That kind of moment is exactly when people finally say yes to the dreadlocks they have been picturing for years. A loctician who can meet them with skill and care, on any hair texture, has a lot to offer here.
What our two days together look like
We start with a one-on-one video call before we meet, so I can understand your experience and your goals. You choose which services to focus on: dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more.
Then I come to you in Phoenix, and we work side by side on live hair models for two days. Alongside the technique, we pay attention to how your body feels hour by hour. We look at your posture, your chair and stool, your breaks, your water and food, and the small habits that let you stay present and comfortable through a long session.
Frequently asked questions
Is the method hard on my hands? No. The Seienstyle process uses a small, controlled crochet motion designed to protect your hands over a long career.
Is it gentle for my clients too? Yes. Clients leave without a sore, tight scalp, and with hair that feels like hair, because no products are used.
How quickly do the dreadlocks mature? They begin to mature within two to three months, without the long awkward stage.
What if I need help after the training? You continue with coaching calls, join the Seienstyle community, and keep lifetime access to The Professional Loctician Online Course.
So, is in-person loctician training in Phoenix right for you?
It may be, if you want to learn a gentle, product-free craft and build a working rhythm your body can sustain.
