My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. Your hands are the instrument of this work, and your body is what carries you through every long appointment. The locticians I know who have lasted for decades all treat their bodies with the same care they give their clients.

If you live in Utah and dream of becoming a loctician, I want to teach you to work in a way your body can sustain.

Why Utah

Utah is a place of extraordinary landscapes: red rock canyons, arches, desert and snow-capped mountains. From Salt Lake City and Provo to Ogden, Park City, St. George and Moab, many people there spend their free time moving outdoors and care deeply about their health.

There are people in Utah who have been dreaming of dreadlocks for years. A loctician who takes care of their own body, and works gently with their clients' bodies, can serve them for a very long time.

The training

The Professional Loctician In-Person Training is a two-day, one-on-one training. I travel to you, wherever you are in Utah, and we work side by side on live hair models.

You choose the services you want to focus on before we meet. The options include dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more. Throughout our two days, I watch your hands and posture and help you build habits that protect you.

Gentle on both bodies

The Seienstyle process uses a small, controlled crochet motion that is kind to your hands, and it never leaves your client with a sore, tight scalp. It uses no products, works on every hair texture, and helps dreadlocks begin to mature within two to three months.

We also talk about movement outside of work that balances the small, repetitive motions of the craft, about sleep and real rest, and about staying present with clients through long days.

Before our two days, we meet on a one-on-one video call. Afterwards, you continue with coaching calls, join the Seienstyle community and keep lifetime access to The Professional Loctician Online Course.
