Loctician Training in Vermont: Hands-On Dreadlock Training With the Seienstyle Process
Jul 25, 2023By Ann-Marie Christell, Seienstyle
Coming back, slowly
Some years ago, I burned out. I had built so much and was holding so much that something inside me simply stopped. I kept doing hair, but quietly. I stepped away from social media and almost let the business I had built over two decades fall apart.
It took me years to come back to myself. What I learned is that this work cannot be sustained at the pace I had been living, and that coming back slowly, on your own terms, can be the most powerful thing you do.
My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. Today I live slowly in Provence, with a garden, the seasons and real rest. If you live in Vermont, I suspect you understand this way of living already.
Why Vermont
Vermont is a state of green mountains, farms, small towns and changing seasons. From Burlington and Montpelier to Brattleboro, Stowe and the villages in between, many people there choose a slower, more intentional life, close to the land and their community.
There are people in Vermont who have been dreaming of dreadlocks for years and want them made with care, naturally and without products. A loctician who works slowly and holistically belongs there.
I come to you
The Professional Loctician In-Person Training is a two-day, one-on-one training. I travel to you, wherever you are in Vermont, and we work side by side on live hair models.
You choose the services you most want to master before we meet. The options include dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more. The training follows your pace and your goals.
A slow, holistic method
The Seienstyle process is inclusive across every hair texture and completely product-free. Its gentle crochet technique protects your hands and your client's scalp, and dreadlocks begin to mature within two to three months.
Because of my own story, I care deeply about helping my students avoid burnout. We talk about rhythm, boundaries, rest and the inner practices that help you stay open without being drained.
Support afterwards
Before our two days, we meet on a one-on-one video call. Afterwards, you continue with coaching calls, join the Seienstyle community and keep lifetime access to The Professional Loctician Online Course.
So, is in-person loctician training in Vermont right for you?
It may be, if you want to learn this craft in a slow, holistic way and build a practice that nourishes you rather than drains you.

If you would like to talk, email me at [email protected]. Tell me a little about yourself and where you are in Vermont, and we can set up a video call to see whether we are a good match.
With love,
Ann-Marie
