Some clients want natural dreadlocks on their own hair for years. Some want long extensions for a complete transformation. Others want something they can try, change or take out: synthetic dreadlocks, or soft, curly mermaid dreadlocks that look beautiful with sun and salt water.

My name is Ann-Marie Christell, and I have been a professional loctician for over 26 years. On a coast full of surfers, wellness lovers and people who like to express themselves, a loctician who can offer all of these, and do each one well, has a lot to share.

Why the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast stretches along beaches like Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta, with the green hinterland rising behind. It is a place of sunshine, surf, movement and an active outdoor life.

There are many people here who have been dreaming of dreadlocks for years and want something natural, light and easy to live with in the ocean. A product-free loctician fits beautifully.

What our two days together look like

Before we meet, we have a one-on-one video call to understand your experience and the services you want to offer. You choose from dreadlocks on natural hair, dreadlocks with extensions, maintenance, mermaid dreadlocks, synthetic dreadlocks and more.

Then I come to you on the Gold Coast, and we work side by side on live hair models for two days. Because this work is physically demanding, we also look closely at your posture, tools and rhythm, and at movement outside work that balances the small, repetitive motions of the craft.

Frequently asked questions

Can I learn mermaid and synthetic dreadlocks? Yes. You choose the services you most want to focus on.

Do natural dreadlocks made this way need products? No. The Seienstyle process is completely product-free, and dreadlocks begin to mature within two to three months.

Is it hard on my body? It is designed not to be. The crochet motion is small and controlled, and posture and tools are part of the method.

What support continues afterwards? Coaching calls, the Seienstyle community, and lifetime access to The Professional Loctician Online Course.
