When you enrol, we decide together which two days we will work side by side in Helsinki. You receive a tool list so that you arrive well prepared.
About a month before we meet, we have our first video call β just the two of us. In that call I walk you through the core of the Seienstyle process, so that the foundation is already in your body, not just in your head, when we stand together with a real hair model. I want to know where you are, what you have practised and what questions you are carrying. You are not walking into something unknown. You will already feel held.

Maintenance is what keeps a dreadlock journey alive. As the hair grows, the roots need separating, loose hair needs crocheting back in, and sections that have grown together need gentle attention. With the Seienstyle process there are two approaches β one uses a fine thread at the root for extra stability, which works especially well on fine or straight hair, and the other uses a small amount of extension hair crocheted in for a softer, more natural look. The technique builds on the same foundation as regular dreadlocks with extensions β human hair carefully matched and blended to the client's own colour, woven in strand by strand into the dreadlock with the crochet method β but instead of the extension hair being dreaded all the way to the tip, part of it is left loose, soft and flowing. The result is a dreadlock with structure and maturity at the root and along its whole length, which then opens into something luminous and free at the end. Rapunzel ends tend to be longer and more dramatic, luxury ends are full and silky soft, and airy ends are lighter and more delicate β and all three can be tailored to exactly what the client has pictured.
